I am a high school student from Richmond, BC, and I am keen on community service and self-growth. Through volunteering with the elders and the experience of tutoring children, I have cultivated good interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility. I like to explore new things, I am willing to learn, and I also hope to contribute my strength in a meaningful way.
Volunteer Experience
Rosewood Manor — Volunteer
I help the elders deal with some easy daily affairs at Rosewood Manor and participate in activities that promote their physical and mental health. I communicate with the elders, provide company, and try to create a positive and respectful environment. This experience has enhanced my empathy, communication ability and understanding of intergenerational relationships.
Chinese Accompany Reading Program — Volunteer Tutor
In this program, I tutor children's Chinese reading and language development, accompany them to read stories, explain vocabulary, and encourage them to build reading confidence. This experience has improved my leadership and expression ability, and also deepened my interest in education.
